Let me start out by saying Chicago is hands down my favorite city!!! This was my 3rd time visiting, and I fall more in love after each trip. I love how easy it is to walk around the city, and there’s SO MUCH TO DO! Below I am recapping my 72 hours in Chicago!

72 HOURS IN CHICAGO:
WHERE TO STAY
We stayed near the Magnificent Mile (aka a huge mile of shopping) at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Downtown/Magnificent Mile. The location is PERFECT, so I recommend staying in this area. We were able to walk everywhere!
WHERE TO EAT/DRINK
The Signature Room Lounge – This is always my #1 Chicago recommendation! The views here are unbelievable, and the drinks are delicious. I recommend going here for happy hour to get a good spot and avoid a wait.
Raised Rooftop Bar – This was a super cute spot for dinner and drinks! I recommend getting there early for the best views.
Pizzeria Portofino – This is not Chicago style pizza, but boy was it yummy! It was also right along the river giving the best views. My two deep dish recommendations: Giordano’s or Lou Manalti’s. I’m team Giordano’s, but try them both for yourself!
Starbucks Reserve Roastery – If you’re a Starbucks fan, I definitely recommend checking out the largest Starbucks in the world! It’s MASSIVE! There are 5 floors, and each floor has a different menu. I got a coffee, pizza, and a croissant, and everything was incredible!
Eataly – This is an Italian marketplace that has so many food options! They have restaurants and food court-style dining. If you’re looking for the food court dining, don’t do what we did and get there after 8 pm… They switch to restaurant seating only after 8!
WHERE TO ADVENTURE
Architecture Tour – I was recommended to do an Architecture Boat Tour by SO MANY PEOPLE, and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend booking this tour on your first day of your trip because you will see the city so differently! Also, our tour guide was BOMB 💣
Kayaking – If you’re visiting in the warmer months, I highly recommend kayaking along the river! It was SO FUN to be able to see the city this way. We weren’t sure how long to book kayaking for, but 1 hour is definitely plenty of time.
Magnificent Mile – Famous mile of shopping! If you’re looking to spend some $$$ and do some shopping, I highly recommend visiting!
The Concrete Beach – Again, if you’re in town during the warmer months, I highly recommend checking out the lakefront! The Concrete Beach is so cool plus it’s right next to the sandy beach.
